Just a quick update to let you all know that I’m still here. I have not forgotten about Neutron City Comix. I have been very busy lately and haven’t had the time I need to turn out quality strips. I do have several strips written and ready for art. I am also still getting the pages put together for the print version of the comic. At the same time, I am trying to keep a roof over my head and my bills paid. It’s almost like keeping a job and doing a comic on the side is a hard thing to do. Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that I am still very much working on new material and will have a new strip out as soon as I can. Should be pretty soon.
In the next week or so I’m going to start taking pre-orders for the Super-Special Edition Premiere Issue #1 of Neutron City Comix: Get Your GEEK On!! There are going to be several different packages you can order that will include cool stuff like signed comics, original art, buttons, posters, etc…
It’s going to be splendid! Get ready to spread the word, Cadets!!
Neutron City Comix is counting on YOU!!
Oh boy, did this movie stink!! I hate when comics movies fall short of how awesome they could be. Such was the case with Green Lantern. Ryan Reynolds might have been perfect for that role if they were doing a Kyle Rayner Green Lantern movie, but he is no Hal Jordan. The special effects looked very cool but the story was super-clunky and terribly boring. The script was uncomfortably predictable with the exception of the involvement of Sinestro. I would never have predicted that they would bother to include, and get such a great actor like Mark Strong to play, a character that has almost nothing to do with the story and is really only in the film so they could set up a sequel; a sequel which I really hope they never bother to make. I suppose you might enjoy this movie if you are a die hard GL fan, or if you’ve suffered severe brain damage in the recent past. Otherwise just say, “NO.”
I never had the pleasure of meeting Ryan Dunn but I feel like I’ve known him a long time. From CKY to Jackass to Viva La Bam and Wild Boyz to The Jackass Films, I feel like I’ve gotten to know all of those guys over the last 13 years or so. They made getting hit in the nuts funny again.
I was shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of the Random Hero, Ryan Dunn. He was hilariously funny, possessed the courage of a daredevil, and appeared to be an all around good guy. He was always one of my favorite Jackasses and he will be missed.
Just a quick Neutron City Comix update: The next 4 strips are currently in various stages of production. Two of them are written and ready for art and another two still need finished scripts. I also have to prepare for C2E2 in a couple of weeks so I’m not sure how soon I’ll be able to get a new strip out but I wanted to assure you that they are, in fact, coming. I also have a whole bunch of ideas for future story lines and joke strips so we shouldn’t be running out of material any tome soon. I just have to budget the time to do the actual work. I’m getting a little antsy in my pantsies.
